GENERAL SUMMARY: This position is responsible for hardware planning and quality assurance, capacity planning, vendor management, and control & standards management for all raised floor hardware activities for mission critical sites. Manages all critical computer technology at defined mission critical sites, provides on-call staffing support, responsible for raised floor management, and does compliance/risk assessments associated with critical NCS operations. Oversees critical technical support functions and services on a corporate level. Provides advice to internal customers. Essential Functions: Plans and oversees the implementation of all raised floor hardware changes. Provides hardware installation parameters to the hardware implementation team and conducts a post-installation review to ensure all installation and network standards have been met. Responsible for updating databases with new hardware location, hardware information, vendor information, vendor contacts and cabling. Plans with vendors cable pulls, equipment installation, and/or relocations/upgrades. Provides work direction to hardware vendors to ensure that activities are in compliance with company change management rules and raised floor standards. Evaluates proposed technology projects to assess adequacy and availability of existing infrastructure resources and recommend options and validate related costs to meet associated need. Responsible for the development, integration and management of all critical raised-floor servicing standards including equipment installations, hardware maintenance, hardware racking, cable management, and vendor support. Works with critical departmental managers to ensure consistent and high quality support for all mission critical operations/applications. Participates in creating policies and procedures that are followed by the group and all Data Center Operations staff. Responsible for on-call support as it relates to raised floor activities, including on-site support and coordination of infrastructure implementations. Basic Qualifications Good communication skills. Attention to detail. Project Management skills. Knowledge of data center planning (Hardware installation/cabling processes). Technical or college degree or 5 years related experience. Preferred Skills/Experience - Superior knowledge of critical hardware, software, control/monitoring procedures, protocols, analog and digital theory, and configurations - Well-developed ability to use a wide variety of diagnostic equipment - Thorough understanding of the U.S. Bancorp network and hardware design - Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and deadlines simultaneously - Ability to identify and resolves complex technical problems - Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills - Strong leadership skills
