Position Description:
We're searching for an experienced RN to fill an exciting role in our Neonatal Resource Services program, with emphasis in serving the Medicaid population.  For more than a decade OptumHealth, a UnitedHealth Group company, has been identifying costly, complex and catastrophic conditions for which there is a quantifiable variance among treatment providers.  Our products and services are developed to support safe, successful and cost-effective management of patients with these conditions. Clinical areas for which OptumHealth offers products include transplantation, kidney disease, congenital heart disease, women's health care, and cancer.  This position provides both hospital on-site and telephonic support of families receiving services through the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). In this position you will work in multiple settings, enjoy excellent benefits, a regular Monday through Friday work schedule.

 
Primary Responsibilities:

• Visiting designated hospitals within an assigned territory to conduct onsite clinical reviews
• Evaluating delays in care, facilitating discharge planning, and arranging for alternative care services to facilitate timely and appropriate discharge
• Effectively using established operating systems to document activities and ensure consistent program clinical practices
• Collaborating with hospital staff and other clinical programs to enhance the quality and efficiency in healthcare delivery
• Educating and supporting the family unit through telephonic assessment and expert clinical interventions

Job Requirements

Qualifications:  

• Candidates must hold a current and unrestricted RN license
• 2+ years of experience in a hospital setting managing high-risk level II or III NICU patients
• Strong MS/Office (Word, Excel & Outlook) experience is requireduperior Communication skills required
• Case management and/or utilization management experience preferred
• Knowledge and experience with Medicaid programs and regulations preferred
• Certified Case Manager (CCM) certification preferred
