Description

To provide management and coaching support to all departments in the collision repair center.
Responsibilities:

The General Manager will assume the responsibility for overseeing the completion of all job functions, according to ABRA procedures, in the absence of any subordinate position within the repair center.

  • Oversee the daily production meeting for the technicians
  • Prepare month end ABS reports
  • Advocate and ensure the promotion of sales add-ons and processing of supplements
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with insurance appraisers.
  • Oversee and support staff in maintaining at least a closing ration of 75% for insurance companies and 60% for customer pay on a daily basis
  • Monitor and oversee scheduling in and into production per schedule board
  • Maintain good customer relations by following up on customer concerns (as outlined by CSI) and updating the customers on the progress of the repair process
  • Review monthly financial statements to maintain cost controls and budget requirements. Develop regular action plans with the Market VP/OM to improve sales volume and shop EBITDAR.
  • Organize repair center meetings to receive feedback from team members in order to reinforce team member motivation, promote good team member relations, and to ensure office and repair center communication. Frequency of meetings to be determined by MM/DM. Maintain company standard of team member retention and employee satisfaction (ESI).
  • Review creative ideas and suggestions submitted by team member
  • Supervise the disposal of hazardous waste generated through the maintenance of proper documentation and record keeping
  • Monitor the implementation and training of all safety procedures and programs outlined in the ABRA Safety Manual
  • Pursue and track potential business accounts by calling on and/or entertaining clients. Sales contacts should be made on a weekly basis. New contacts should be, at the minimum, of every other week
  • Review and update vehicle production plan daily. Review priority vehicles with CSM and Production Manager every AM
  • All supplements will be completed before the vehicle is delivered
  • All returns for incorrect or unnecessary parts will be made before the file is closed. and will be properly documented
  • All estimates that are not appointed will be followed up by phone and letter within 2 days
  • All customers will be dealt with professionally and will be made to feel important
  • Every customer will be notified within one hour after completion of the vehicle
  • All customers will be given notice of any delays that may prevent the vehicle from being completed at the promised time
  • Handle all personnel matters discreetly, professionally, and in private with all team members
  • Follow all maintenance schedules to ensure minimal equipment failure
  • Monitor inventory of parts and supplies
  • Oversee all repair center and office personnel and operations daily
  • Conduct initial and annual team member performance appraisals
  • Vehicle Inspections/Quality Control
  • Learn, then comply with Process Flow/Procedures
  • Meet with PM to review pending credits and returns weekly
  • Meet with CSR to review daily reporting and A/R
  • Discuss sales goals and monthly sales status with staff
  • Review all files prior to close for documentation and billing accuracy
Requirements
  • Knowledge of auto body estimating
  • Knowledge of one or more computer estimating software packages
  • Excellent sales abilities
  • Knowledge of DRP procedures applicable to this repair center location
  • Ability to interact with all levels of personnel in the repair center and Central Services
  • Excellent Team Member coaching skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Flexibility to handle multiple projects at once
  • Auto body estimating training
  • ASE Certification for Body/Paint
  • ABRA General Manager training
  • ICAR certified
  • Certified to do DRP work
  • ABS management system training
