About the Position:
PECI's' Commercial Retail group seeks a Senior Engineer with management experience to lead a team of other engineers and supporting project and program staff. This position is a highly strategic role providing foundational direction and support for new and existing programs. The diverse and challenging work includes management of innovative technical projects including; efficiency program and measure design, determination of energy savings for a variety of retrofits and operational changes from motors to controls and creation of industry protocols (e.g. recommissioning).
The Engineering Manager will drive development and implementation of new efficiency programs including grocery store new construction and retrofit programs, will participate in the evaluation of new technologies, and will interface with industry leaders. Internally, this position is the liaison between executive leadership, program leadership, and technical staff. The Engineering Manager is responsible for guiding staff through the development of efficiency measures, utility work papers, the creation and implementation of M&V efforts, and other crucial engineering work. Externally, the manager will represent PECI in leading edge technical and policy forums such as ASHRAE, the Pacific Northwest’s Regional Technical Forum, the California Energy Commission, the California Air Resources Board, and State and Federal Departments of Energy. Mentoring, training and developing others are critical components of the job.
Key responsibilities:

- Development and management of work plans and budgets
Requirements:
- Dynamic leadership experience as a member of a dynamic and entrepreneurial team
- PE certification desired but not required
- Strong experience in project and/or program management
- Experience in refrigeration cycle technologies, with experience in commercial refrigeration desired but not required
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Experience in budget and resource management for multiple projects; strong delegation skills
- Ability to manage and absorb technical details and information from a big picture perspective
- Ability to think and communicate creatively and strategically
- Ability to work under pressure, with energy and enthusiasm
- Strong problem-solving and issue resolution skills; comfortable exercising judgment in ambiguous situations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Results oriented; able to multi-task in a fast paced work environment
- Understanding of utility energy efficiency measure concerns, including work-papers and custom measure processes
- Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated commitment to energy efficiency initiatives
