Overview:

 

Tyco Electronics is currently seeking a Director, Talent Management.  Tyco Electronics is strengthening the Talent Management and Organizational Effectiveness group in the Global Organization Development & Learning (ODL) Function.   We need top notch, practical people who can think big and then rollup their sleeves and drive the business.

 

The Director is accountable for the design, development and implementation of an integrated talent management process and accountable for the company's global employee engagement survey.  This position reports to the Vice President, Global Organization Development & Learning.

Basic Functions

This position ensures the design, development and delivery of processes, programs, and systems which enable and facilitate the engagement, selection, assessment, development and strategic movement of employees across Tyco Electronics.  

Accountabilities
  • Oversee the design and implementation of integrated talent management processes including performance management, organization leadership review (OLR) process, talent review, and succession planning.
  • Partner with Global Staffing to facilitate placement of internal top talent.  
  • Partner with Senior HR Leaders in the design and implementation of the Tyco Electronics' employee engagement survey process and the design of learning approaches to enhance engagement.
  • Responsible for the selection and appropriate utilization of assessment methods such as assessment centers, psychometric tests, and 360-degree feedback instruments.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of competency models and career ladders.
  • Develop tools and training to educate employees on effective execution of talent management processes, competency models, and assessment programs.
  • Partner with Global Communications to ensure effective roll-out of enterprise-wide processes and programs.
  • Partner with other OD&L staff in the application of assessment tools in the management of organization change, effectiveness and performance.
  • Provide consultation to HR and Business Leaders to improve talent management processes.
Responsibilities & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Organization/Business or related field with 10+ years of related and applied work experience; Master's degree preferred.
  • Must possess specialized technical depth in talent management and/or leadership development with results delivered in global business context.
  • Sound business acumen with corresponding analytical and judgment skills.
  • Particularly strong skills and experience in top talent in a major corporation.
  • Excellent collaborative/consultative skills at variety of organization levels. Can work effectively with top executives.
  • Strong written/oral and facilitation skills.
  • Adaptable and innovative in design and execution of programs, processes and solutions
  • Experience leading, developing, refining a highly effective talent management processes in a company recognized for its approach and application.
  • Demonstrated expertise in consulting and leadership of HR generalists and interns in rotational assignments and as well as the development of highly competent, less experienced direct reporting talent management professionals.
