Position Summary:  Registered Nurse, Inpatient Service, Part-time

Princeton University Health Services is a fully accredited, comprehensive campus health center dedicated to providing the highest level of care and customer satisfaction. Health Services is seeking a registered nurse to provide comprehensive nursing care to students and their dependents on our 15 bed Inpatient Unit, and to walk-in clients on an outpatient basis. There is a physician on-call 24 hr for consultation and a nursing aide to provide assistance.

  • This is a Part time 60% 10 month position on the evening shift with hours from 2:45 pm to 11:15 pm and includes working alternating weekends. The Inpatient Service is open during the academic year from September to June.

  • The position requires 3-5 years general experience in a hospital setting, strong physical assessment skills, good judgment and decision making skills. Must be able to prioritize and manage diverse tasks. Current New Jersey licensure, CPR/AED certification, IV and phlebotomy skills required. Computer skills are essential. Emergency Department or College Health experience preferred.

  • New Jersey license as a professional Registered Nurse.
  • 3-5 years of nursing experience in a hospital or college health setting.
  • Current CPR/AED certification.
  • IV and phlebotomy skills.
  • Ability to perform detailed physical assessment and recognize normal and abnormal signs and symptoms.
  • Ability to dispense all treatment and medication prescribed in accordance with protocol.
  • Computer literate.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and manage diverse tasks through utilization of good judgment and independent thinking.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, excellent oral, written and listening skills.
    - Ability to physically move and ambulate patients, move freelythroughout the Unit, and stand for periods of time.
  • Flexibility and dependability. Attendance is critical.
