This individual will play an integral role in meeting the financial planning, reporting and analysis needs of the US Sales organization. The Senior Financial Analyst will proactively support the Senior Finance Manager - US Sales and the Executive Director, Finance - US Sales in the areas of expense analysis, forecasting, and budgeting. This individual will be asked to support the implementation of key process improvements, including monthly close cycle-time reductions and improvements to forecast accuracy. - This position also supports additional US Corporate functions (Customer Care, Communications & Events, Internet) in managing their departmental expenses (budgeting and analysis), as well as the US Incentives budget (approx. $18 million).
- Additionally, this individual will provide ongoing analytical support to the US Source of Sales model, which includes primary Sales Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including staff additions, orders, average order size, customers served and net sales. This model is updated on a bi-weekly campaign cycle and is a key tool and monitoring the performance of the US Sales organization. This role provides a unique opportunity to gain exposure to Avon's direct selling model, which is a key source of its competitive advantage.
- Provide financial support in the areas of expense planning, forecasting, tracking and budgeting of U.S. Sales, Customer Care, and Communications & Events, Internet cost centers and program expenses.
- Perform month end close processes, such as expense reviews, preparation of journal entries, and maintenance of account analyses/reconciliations. Support the implementation of key process improvements, including monthly close cycle-time reductions and improvements to forecast accuracy.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly variance analysis and commentary. Identify risks/opportunities to the latest forecast or budget. Monitor and conduct variance analyses on category Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and expenses.
- Provide ongoing analytical support to the US Source of Sales model.
- Support US Sales team with ad hoc projects and analytical support.
- Bachelor's degree. MBA/CPA preferred.
- 3 - 5 years experience in Finance, Consumer Goods experience preferred.
- Strong financial and analytical background.
- Candidate must have a strong leadership potential and ability to take on greater responsibility in future roles.
- Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with Business Units and with high levels of responsibility and accountability
- Strong customer service acumen and results oriented
- Ability to work within tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks
- Effective presentation skills
- Excellent PC skills, advanced Excel required
- Knowledge of Cognos, Powerplay, & Hyperion Pillar preferred
