This new position will play a key role in the growth and expansion of business services and product offerings at Comcast Business Services. This position will support the sale of Comcast High Capacity Ethernet Networks, Internet, Video, and Voice based services to mid-size and large businesses, and government, education and medical institutional customers. The individual in this role is primarily responsible for providing coaching and development to Enterprise Account Executives and technical sales support throughout the sales process as a key member of the newly formed Enterprise Sales Organization. This includes the design and implementation of complex data network and voice solutions for enterprise customers. Working as part of the sales team, this individual will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and delivery of sales presentations, acting as the subject matter expert (SME) in all product/service offerings and driving the sales cycle to closure. Key areas of focus will include: participating in sales appointments, assisting in the preparation of Requests for Proposals (RFP), providing guidance and counsel throughout the sales process, and assuring complete and accurate completion of design documentation and contract paperwork in support of complex agreements. Ongoing consultation with the sales and engineering teams after the sale is closed will be critical to ensure ongoing satisfaction with Comcast and its products.

Drive sales through technical sales support and coaching and development of Enterprise Account Executives in the sale of Comcast High Capacity Ethernet Networks, Internet, Video and Voice services to mid-size and large businesses and government, education and medical institutional clients. Through coaching and technical sales, support driving sale closure to shorten the sales cycle and ensure sales goals and objectives are achieved. As part of sales process, play key role in the preparation of RFP's, designing cost-effective solutions and solving prospect configuration challenges. Participate in the creation and delivery of high-level face-to-face sales presentations that demonstrate technical knowledge of the latest Comcast products and services.
Analyze customer requirements and needs to understand how Comcast products and services can be applied to meet these needs and solve their problems. Design solutions for the customer that meet their business applications as well as assure protected circuit design, disaster recovery applications, appropriate bandwidth for future growth, etc. Translates complex technical design requirements into information that customer can understand and respond to. Stay abreast of competitive landscape and emerging technologies to best position Comcast in the marketplace. Respond requests for bids and proposals by providing fully documented technical solution (with diagrams) that clearly outline all technical components of solution.
Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to complete all required elements of engineering study for all new build sales opportunities and works with outside plant and equipment vendors to ensure most cost effective methods are used in design of all new build projects. Assure Comcast and customer installation readiness.
In support of Enterprise Account Executives, assure completion of all appropriate paperwork in support of customer network design and contract completion. Set appropriate expectations on timeline and project completion and provide regular project updates to internal customers (sales, engineering, technical operations).

  • Job Requirements 

    Education: B.S. Degree in related field; computer science or engineering preferred.
    CCDA/CCNA preferred

  • 5+ years in technical sales engineering/support role in the telecommunications industry (Ideally with ISP, CLEC, ILEC, VAR, or MSO), including minimum of 3 years in position working directly with customers
  • Adept in developing and delivering technical presentations

    Preferred experience with following:

  • MAN technologies & designs including DS-x, OC-x, WDM, and Ethernet
  • Internet Technologies, Functionality & Services
  • Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery concepts
  • Networking Protocols (with an emphasis on Layers 1,2, & 3)
  • CPE (voice & data)
  • Voice Network Technologies (including VoIP)
  • Data Networking Technologies, Functionality & Services (LAN, MAN, WAN, VPN)
  • Must have developed and/or delivered technical training programs
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communicator with ability to explain technical concepts in simple and understandable terms to a layperson
