Details:

  • Conduct analysis and assist in testing method development as business needs change.
  • Must be skilled at preparing samples for purge & trap, GC-Mass-Spec evaluation.
  • Must be able to run & troubleshoot purge & trap, GC-Mass-Spec.
  • Must be able to evaluate chromatagraphs & interpret peaks as compared to a known standard, such that relative amounts of specific volitile chemicals are identified.
  • Must be able to enter the data in Excel spreadsheets & plot results.
  • Will be required to organize workload and prioritize samples to maximize output and meet deadlines.
  • Meet QA/QC and GLP requirements and maintain a work environment that complies with client and Analytical Services safety rules.
  • This position may require travel between research buildings during the work-day.

    Qualifications:
  • Related technical college or bachelor's degree.
  • 1-4 years experience
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently organize workload and maintain proper documentation Good oral and written communication skills
  • PC skills and profiency with Word and Excel preferred.
  • Must be able to run a Purge & Trap, Gas-chromatagraph, and Mass-spectrometer to identify volatile chemicals in food samples.

    Preferred:
  • Prefer experience to safely work with organic solvents in a hood;
  • ISO Certified lab experience
