The Instructional Design Associate is responsible for assisting the Instructional Design team with a variety of technical, administrative, and review tasks in the development of online courses. The Instructional Design Associate reports to DeVry Online's Director, Program Development.
A. Design Standards and Multimedia Production Working with Instructional Designers, Subject Matter Experts, and other development staff, the Instructional Design Associate implements and/or edits course materials so that they comply with all course design standards and best practices by:
- Edit and format web pages and other documents to conform to documented standards.
- Create and edit custom graphics and images.
- Develop new tools, templates, and documentation in support of media creation and standards implementation.
- Update and maintain course masters to comply with all existing design standards and course changes.
- Develop and/or maintain online course masters to comply with all existing design standards and course changes.
- Perform other ad hoc assignments as needed in course development projects.
B. General Administrative and School-wide Projects
- Participate in DeVry Online and School wide projects
- Participate in regular and special DeVry Online team meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
The Instructional Design Associate holds a Bachelors degree and 1-2 years experience in an instructional design or multimedia production environment. Demonstrated ability to apply instructional design best practices is required. Strong working knowledge of HTML, web page layout, and graphic design is required. Solid knowledge of corresponding applications such as Camtasia, Captivate, Flash and Dreamweaver is a must. The Instructional Design Associate has excellent written and verbal skills, as well as strong organizational skills. The Instructional Design Associate works well in a fast paced and team environment. Ability to juggle many assignments simultaneously is a must.
