J2EE Design Engineer

Description As a Design Engineer, you will responsible for design of complex, multi-system environments including the production, testing and development environments. Primary expertise/responsibility to design the integration of hardware, operating systems and connectivity for the target technology solution. Identifies and analyzes the business requirements of both internal and external clients. Works with the development, production and support teams to provide design guidelines and imparts knowledge on technical trends and solutions. Develop and maintain/improve the technical architecture frameworks including middleware and portal. Provide expert knowledge of technical architecture, and serve as Subject Matter Expert to Business, Operations and Technology teams on those topics. Identify the hardware and software components the application will use for implementation and provide instruction on how to appropriately implement application components.

You will identify and communicate risks associated with component or application implementation. Provide support and guidance to the development teams during the analysis, development and testing processes. Support the application development and infrastructure teams to plan the sequence and content of application component releases. Prepare technical and middleware architecture deliverables in accordance with JPMC Chase standards and methodologies consistent with the target business architecture. Work effectively within team to identify and resolve issues. Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals at all levels.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of Design work experience
• Solid skills in multiple programming languages, systems, as well as systems design
• Knowledge of the overall business operating models and underlying technical architecture
• Strong skills in of project management methodologies and tools
• Strong middleware and internet technology experience
• Strong skills in design methodologies, standards and tools
• Understanding of relevant technologies and development life cycles
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Expertise in J2EE design, Websphere Portal, Adobe Flex
Strong knowledge of service-oriented approach in application development
Knowledge of  IBM products: WebSphere Portal, Websphere MQ, WebSphere ESB, IBM WebSphere Application Server Enterprise Process Choreographer
Hands-on experience in Java /XML/Sybase
Experience in API and Standards, i.e. SpringFrame Work, Ibatis, JSR 168, JSR 127, BPEL
Experience with AIX 6, Windows 2K/3K, Solaris 10 and virtualization
Experience with Straight Through Processing a plus
Experience with C++ plus
