Wells Fargo Merchant Payment Solutions specializes in providing solutions such as credit card, debit card, check guarantee and gift cards to businesses of all sizes. WFMPS is nationally recognized for its ingenuity and reputation as a leader in the electronics payments industry.

This is an excellent opportunity for qualified candidates to continue a successful sales management career. We are searching for a highly motivated Regional Sales Manager in our new Eastern Region. This is a unique opportunity to build a new outside sales team from the ground up.

  • * This position is located in the greater Charlotte metro area, NC.

  • This is a senior-level leadership role; we are only interested in candidates with 3 years or more of multi-level management experience with outside business to business sales teams. If you do not have this experience, please do not apply.

    Regional business knowledge and expertise are crucial for success in this role. So there is a strong emphasis on hiring high-performing local talent. Exceptionally qualified candidates outside of the region may be considered, but unfortunately relocation funds are not available for this position.

    Primary Accountabilities:

     Create, lead and assist a team of 3-5 Market Sales Managers with teams of 8-10 outside sales people each within an assigned area to acquire, retain, and expand new business relationships resulting in the achievement of aggressive regional and business line goals and objectives.

     The Regional Sales Manager is accountable for the achievement of sales and revenue goals through the implementation of a strategic sales plan with programs focused on merchant payment products

     Also accountable for recruiting, development, motivation, and retention of a high performance sales force.

     Demonstrate excellent tactical coaching ability by being fully engaged with each Market Sales Managers activities; their sales action plans, pipelines, and activity calendars, including disciplined sales tracking and reporting.

     Conduct weekly sales team meetings in addition to weekly individual meetings with each Market Sales Manager. Also participate in business development activities and in-field sales calls with Sales Consultants.

     Work closely with Bank partners within the sales geography to maximize the sales opportunities of new and existing customers.

     Ensure that the sales team has a customer-centric approach to their business, and reinforces the Wells Fargo Customer Experience.

     Demonstrate exemplary sales management behaviors, outstanding leadership characteristics, and ethical behavior consistent with Wells Fargos Vision and Values.

     You will also be responsible for adhering to all Wells Fargo Bank and Wells Fargo Merchant Payment Solutions programs and policies.

     Compensation plan consists of base salary + commission. 


  • Job Requirements 

    * Minimum Qualifications:
     5 + years of demonstrated successful sales team leadership & management experience.

     3 + years of multi-level management experience; i.e. successfully leading direct reporting sales managers who manage direct business to business outside sales teams of at least 25 people total.

     7 + years of sales experience.

     Documented success in recruiting, motivating and coaching a team of sales management professionals.

     Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.

     Very strong sales presentation and negotiating skills

     The ability to interact professionally and effectively with all levels of management both within and outside the bank.

     Highly-developed PC skills including Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.

     Undergraduate degree in related discipline or equivalent work experience.
