Job Description

OHL is currently looking for qualified applicants for the position of Human Resources Coordinator.  This position provides HR support for the company.

  • Processes employment applications and assists in other employment activities
  • Administers and scores pre-employment assessment tests
  • Submits requests for background checks and previous employment verification to our third party vendor; issues pre-adverse and adverse action letters as needed
  • Enters applicant information in HR database
  • Assists with new hire orientations as needed; maintains an adequate supply of orientation materials; and compiles orientation packets to include 401k enrollment packets to associates as well as other pertinent documents
  • Ensures completion of all new hire paperwork
  • Creates new associate personnel files
  • Prepares and issues monthly birthday/anniversary list
  • Prepares a monthly list of active associates by location and sends to Pure Safety
  • Issues list of upcoming and late performance appraisals to management team monthly
  • Completes verifications of employment, wage statements and requests for information for unemployment benefit filings
  • Manages Company Store including selecting items, distributing flyers, processing orders, ensuring payroll deductions and maintaining adequate supplies
  • Coordinates associate ticket sales (i.e., movie tickets, aquarium tickets)
  • Issues Job Satisfaction Questionnaires after each new hire has completed 90 days’ employment; enters responses of those returned in database
  • Issues Exit Questionnaires on a weekly basis to those who have terminated employment; enters responses of those returned in database
  • Examines associate files to answer inquiries and provides information to authorized persons
  • Maintains the HR database.  Runs routine reports to ensure all appropriate fields are populated
  • Maintains the Unitime Benefits Manager module to ensure accurate PTO and floater holiday tracking
  • Processes PTO payout on a weekly basis for those have terminated employment; updates information in Unitime benefits module
  • Receives executed severance agreements; files in personnel file and central file; sends PCF to payroll outlining the appropriate severance benefit payment
  • Sends Form 8850 to unemployment third party vendor as needed
  • Enters performance appraisal rating and next review date in HR database
  • Maintains recognition gift certificate supply; issues as needed
  • Coordinates Company functions, such as company picnic or fundraisers
  • Prepares and issues welcome letters on a weekly basis to new hires
  • Routes incoming PCFs as appropriate
  • Codes invoices as appropriate (i.e. drug testing, background checks, help wanted postings, etc.)
  • Provides back-up phone support to Receptionist
  • Maintains personnel files; filing

Candidate Qualifications

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) required
  • Must have at least six months of related experience and/or training
  • Must be PC literate and proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Strong interpersonal skills
