Block by Block, in association with the City Center Partner- ship Downtown Improvement District, is seeking a dynamic, degreed or non degreed,experienced Social Service Out- reach Specialist/ Hospitality Safety Guide with at least 2 or more years verified experience working in the social service industry. Ideal candi- date will have a work- ing knowledge of and experience with men- tal illness, homelessness, substance abuse, and anti-social behavior. Candidate must have the ability to coordinate and network with relevant community services and resources; show demonstrated ability to work with clients in a patient, insightful, and compassionate manner and proven experience in de-escalation and crisis intervention. Position is responsi- ble for responding to requests for assis- tance with individuals needing social ser- vice assistance to include, delivering "street-based" ser- vice to individuals in need of services such as; mental health treatment, drug/ alcohol treatment, shel- ter, food, clothing and transportation. Assess individuals' needs and connect individuals wanting services with appropriate providers. Ob- tain assistance from other outreach ser- vice providers when necessary. Build and maintain relation- ships with other social service providers so that the referral pro- cess goes smoothly. We offer competitive benefits and competitive pay.
