The Director of Emergency Services will develop, implement, and evaluate the quality of nursing care delivery while participating in performance improvement activities for quality management initiatives. This role will be responsible to develop and administer the department operational budget to achieve Truman Medical Centers business objectives. Proven leadership is necessary for our fast paced Emergency Department setting while maintaining current knowledge relating to applicable statutes, regulations, guidelines and standards. This role will have primary contacts with physicians, management staff, department chairmen, and external regulatory agencies as well as with employees at all levels of the organization. We are a Level 1 Trauma Center, 24/7 operation running 49 beds. Our staff serves an average of 61,000 patient visits per year including close to 900 traumas. As the primary teaching facility for UMKC medical school, we train future Emergency Room physicians as well as EMT?s, Paramedics, Firefighters, and nurses. Minimum requirements:
Master of Science in Nursing or related healthcare field with a focus in business or finance
5 years management experience
Experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center
Maintain current Missouri license as a professional nurse (RN)
