GENERAL SUMMARY: Demonstrates clinical expertise in dealing with a defined patient population. Responsible for providing coordination of care to patients in area of expertise. Assists the nursing staff in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of complex nursing care for patient, in accordance with established policies and procedures. Utilizes clinical expertise to assists the physician in the delivery of care for patients in various settings, including but not limited to inpatient and outpatient. Communicates all pertinent information concerning patient care for the assigned patient population as directed. Accountable for monitoring continuous quality improvement activities related to the assigned patient population and the development of standards of care and practice. Works collaboratively with medical and nursing staff in the provision of services. Demonstrates fidelity to Saint Margaret Mercy Healthcare Center¿s mission; displays a high regard for human life and respects the dignity, uniqueness, worth and rights of each individual. EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION FORMAL TRAINING: Master¿s degree is required with certification as an Advance Practice Nurse- CNS/Nurse Practitioner. Current Indiana licensure as an RN and Advanced Practice Nurse CNS/Nurse Practitioner, as well as DEA and CSR licensure for prescriptive authority. Has collaborative agreement on file with the State as well as posted in Department. EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED: Three (3) to five (5) years of recent experience in area of expertise required. One to three years of experience functioning in an Advance Practice Nursing role preferred. Must possess excellent communication and clinical skills.
