Outdoor Living/Lawn Care

This position is responsible for managing Profit and Loss in a Scotts LawnService market . Responsibilities include all phases of branch/market operations and results, including staffing, training, budgeted production, sales and service goals, customer service, quality and compliance. Responsible for developing annual and seasonal operational plans and successfully executing strategies to achieve revenue and profit goals.

A qualified General Manager should have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of service experience as the controlling manager of a operation, preferably delivering a service at customer's homes within a service area. Must have used decision-making, organizational and problem solving skills as a routine part of daily activities. Strong employee relations experience is necessary. Ability to provide service that exceeds the customer's expectations on a daily basis. Successful experience managing a P& L and extensive budgeting experience will be required. Ability to meet goals and attain desired business results in a team-oriented environment is vital. Experience managing a team of service people and a fleet of service vehicles is desirable. Knowledge of landscaping, horticulture, lawn-care or other agricultural background is helpful, but not required.

Education: BS degree required or equivalent years of education and experience
Experience: Five+ years of experience providing a route-oriented service to customers at their homes (i.e. plumbing, cable, package delivery, lawn service, etc...). Managing a multi-branch environment is strongly desired. Experience in the lawn care industry is a plus. Prior P&L management experience is required. Knowledge:

• Knowledge of general business practices and principles is required
• Strong knowledge of P&L management, employee management and customer service is required.

Skills and Abilities:

• Strong ability to communicate with customers in a clear and professional manner
• General office computer skills will be needed (i.e. Microsoft Office, Excel, Word)
• Ability to identify, analyze and solve problems
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Certifications:

• Current state pest control certification or ability to become certified
• Must have a valid driver's license
