Provides guidance, support, training and oversight for business office operations at multiple Skilled Nursing facilities.  Assists the Regional financial team in implementing company wide initiatives.  Long Term Care Experience in the Nursing Home environment is required to be considered for this role.
 
 


Job Requirements 

Qualifications:
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or similar or equivalent experience.
Licenses/Certification:
Experience:
  • 5 years experience in general accounting, Nursing Home (long term care), with at least 4 years in accounts receivable.  Experience with payroll operations and systems, and Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement is required.
Essential Functions:
  • Conducts training for business office staff in the areas of accounts receivable, accounts payable, Resident Trust Fund (RTF), payroll and similar.
  • Conducts training on the use of relevant software programs and policy compliance.
  • Performs periodic audits of financial files, payroll, RTF and petty cash, assists in internal audit responses.
  • Monitors month-end close and other business office operations for timeliness and accuracy.
  • Assists in recruiting and interviewing business office staff.
  • Coordinates coverage or assistance in the absence of the Business Office Manager.
  • Assists with the development and execution of corrective action plans related to the Business Office.
  • Coordinates the implementation of new policies, systems and processes related to facility accounting activities.
  • Assists in the collection of difficult accounts, attends A/R reviews, monitors DSO.
  • Evaluates business office staff job performance and provides input to the Administrator.
  • Communicates regularly with the Administrator and DO regarding status of business office issues and personnel.
  • Completes facility visit reporting to discuss with Administrator and, if necessary, District and Region personnel.
  • Assists facilities with ensuring that all personnel receive appropriate compliance training.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to travel routinely.
  • Knowledge of billing, collections, accounting and audit practices and procedures.
  • Skilled in directing and motivating the workforce.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize to meet deadlines.
  • Skilled in the use of payroll systems and in the Microsoft Office suite of applications, Excel and Word.
  • Skilled in conducting training programs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents and their family members, and at all levels of the organization.
