Responsibilities
This position in Moody's global insurance group will focus on ratings and research on U.S. property/casualty insurers. Responsibilities include assisting senior analytical staff in research and writing of company credit reports and special reports, analysis of companies' financial statements and public disclosures, analysis of quantitative/qualitative data, monitoring of companies including involvement with rating committees, and travel and interaction with top level insurance executives at company meetings and investors/intermediaries. Special projects as needed. Individual will provide wide ranging support to the team's global rating & research efforts.
Qualifications
MBA, CFA, Actuarial or other relevant advanced degree. Strong quantitative and computer skills, perhaps acquired as a securities analyst, auditor, or actuary. 4-6 years of relevant professional experience. Applicants should be credit-trained and/or have broad familiarity with the property/casualty & reinsurance industry including GAAP and statutory financial reporting and the various insurance products/markets. Background in statistical modeling and reserve analysis preferred. Computer proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint necessary. Strong research, analytic, writing and speaking skills are sought, as is the capacity to interact effectively with senior managers--both inside and outside the company.
