Headquartered in Kirkland, Wash., the company launched its first market in August 2004 and now offers service in 16 states across the U.S. as well as in Europe.On May 7, 2008, Clearwire Corporation and Sprint Nextel Corporation entered into a definitive agreement to combine their next-generation wireless broadband businesses to form a new wireless communications company to expedite the deployment of the first nationwide mobile WiMAX network. In conjunction with this agreement Intel Corporation (through Intel Capital); Google Inc.; Comcast Corporation; Time Warner Cable Inc; and Bright House Networks have collectively agreed to invest $3.2 billion into the new company. Core Commissioning EngineerThe successful Core Commissioning Engineer will receive completed design information and using this information, perform detailed and accurate configuration of all equipment within the Clearwire Regional Data Centers and other core facilities, verify that the design has been implemented correctly, and hand off to Tier III for testing and acceptance.Responsibilities Work closely with Core Network Engineering to ensure designs are accurate and complete. Assist the Installation team with identification and resolution of issues prior to commissioning. Continually assist in developing improved strategies to make Commissioning faster and more accurate. Project management of commissioning crews prior to and while onsite. Complete configuration of all equipment within the assigned Clearwire core facilities. Update as-built documentation based on final installation and implementation. Verify that design has been fully implemented prior to handing off to Tier III for acceptance testing.Requirements 5-7 years experience in a network engineering environment. Service provider experience preferred. Strong routing/switching experience. MPLS or PBB-TE experience preferred. Cisco router and switch, Juniper router and Ciena experience preferred. Linux and Solaris administration skills preferred. Network cabling abilities and knowledge required. Experience with Mobile IP and WiMAX protocols preferred. Good documentation skills including expert use of Microsoft Visio and Excel. Highly motivated, results driven and passionate. Analytical thinker with the ability to thoughtfully analyze complex networks. Ability to schedule and prioritize time and resources effectively. Excellent interpersonal skills. Bachelor degree in a technical field preferred and/or equivalent experience required.
