Actuary - Government Health and Benefits Consultant 

 


The Government Sector Actuarial Consultant provides consulting assistance on rate setting and risk management for government-sponsored programs, including programs for the Medicaid, medically indigent and uninsured populations. To fulfill this role in our Minneapolis office, the Actuary will:

  • Calculate actuarially sound upper payment limits
  • Develop creative rate setting methodologies
  • Calculate managed care capitation rates and rate changes
  • Collect, analyze and interpret health care data
  • Provide specialized consulting and project management support for client projects.


Job Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in actuarial science, math, statistics, economics, finance or business
  • ASA designation required, FSA designation preferred
  • 5+ years of actuarial health care experience, preferably in a consulting environment
  • Excellent analytical, strategic planning and communication skills.
