NATURE OF POSITION The Director of Surgical and Obstetrical Services has the responsibility, authority and accountability for patient care administration and practice for the development and maintenance of a specific area of business (product line), and for the development of a workforce who consistently strives to exceed stated standards.  Actively markets service to community and medical staff.  Participates in Surgery, Anesthesiology and OB/GYN recruitment. The incumbent will perform the essential functions of the job as identified in the Service Behaviors and position competencies. MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS Education: Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN). Work Experience: Five years progressive management responsibility in nursing with at least 3 years in Surgical Services. Licensing/Certification/Registration: Current RN license by Kansas State Board of Nursing.  Current Health Care Provider (BCLS) certification by American Heart Association.  Knowledge & Cognitive Abilities: Leadership, creativity, and management skill.  Verbal and non-verbal communication skills   Interpersonal relationship skills. Demonstrates proficiency with MS Word and Excell.  Demonstrates the ability to analyze data. PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS  Specialty certification in area of practice.  Masters degree in health care related field.   HR Use Only: ~cb~
