Job Description 

This position functions as part of a psychiatric care team working with other physicians, physician extenders, nurses and/or other support staff. Positions will cover inpatient and outpatient Psychiatric Services. Primary and secondary medical services are provided in the General and Medical portions of the medical center. This level of service, as well as tertiary care, is also provided to the psychiatric areas.

The Topeka VA Medical Center is part of the VA Eastern Kansas Health Care System which
serves veterans in Eastern Kansas and Northwestern Missouri. There are two main hospitals, one
in Topeka and Leavenworth, with 10 community based out patients clinics.

Since 1946, the staff of the Colmery-O'Neil VA Medical Center has been serving veterans. Today,
we proudly serve our nation's veterans with excellent health care as part of the VA Eastern
Kansas Health Care System (VAEKHCS). We consider it our privilege to serve your health care

VA Eastern Kansas Health Care System's primary service area consists of 39 counties in Kansas
and Missouri. Veteran population in these counties totals over 104,000. VAEKHCS provides care
to approximately 36,000 veterans.
