Overview: The position will perform data extraction, analysis and reporting of results related to Mileage Plus Member activities. Additionally, this position will further develop Mileage Plus member reporting and analysis to better drive strategic insight and optimize marketing campaigns. The candidate will also serve as an internal consultant across functional divisions to assist in providing information and making recommendations on a how to improve campaign targeting. Provide analysis and reporting to support marketing programs, merchandising effort, CRM, and loyalty initiatives. The Analyst extracts, manipulates and analyzes multiple large data sets from different sources to address customer marketing goals for the Mileage Plus team and partners. Provides mail files and reporting on member activity and campaign response. Responsibilities: - Extract data from multiple sources to create analysis and reporting data sets; create new variables and ensure data accuracy, hygiene and quality
- Analyze behavior and profile customer data to provide insights, with focus on answering business questions
- Develop reporting for dashboards and KPIs and for campaign prioritization
- Work with partner personnel and vendors to understand business challenges and develop innovative analytic solutions based on the best practices of CRM and Customer focused Market Research
- Develop and maintain database attributes and models relative to existing and new customers.
- Perform analysis of customer search and purchase patterns, contact history, channel behavior, and preferences to identify and create customer segments and marketing opportunities that enhance customer lifetime value and sales while maximizing cost effectiveness of budgeted programs
- Analyze marketing campaigns and other promotions to determine both short and long term impact on customer behavior and profitability
- Present analytical results and recommendations to Mileage Plus staff and partners

Education: - Bachelor's Degree in an analytic or reporting field (e.g.: applied statistics, operational research, economics, integrated marketing).
- Masters Degree in analytical field can substitute for one year of experience.
Experience: - Minimum of 2 years experience in direct marketing or data analysis with focus on solving business problems, loyalty and customer retention programs.
- Preference for experience in travel, financial services, catalog, or other transactional industry.
- Proficiency with Business Intelligence products such as Brio, Cognos, Affinium, Business Objects as well as Microsoft Excel and Access is required, Practical experience with statistical software, such as SAS or Minitab is desired.
- Web analytics a plus.
Skills: - A strong, demonstrated background in data management, report development, marketing campaign support
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross functional team, as well as with vendors and partner analysts
- Strong communication, presentation (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
- Strong quantitative skills, attention to detail, a high aptitude for problem solving and a natural interest in understanding and explaining consumer behavior and loyalty
