Job Description

The Associate, Sales Support is the primary liaison and point of contact for all Sales related issues pertaining to the sales process cycle surrounding other functional groups such as Credit, Contracts, Risk, Gas Operations, and Accounting. This position will be involved in higher level process improvement projects from time to time, as the expert on internal sales processes as well as providing training/on-boarding of new sales reps. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Investigating and solving any customer issues including invoicing and pricing. Acting as primary customer contact on issues. Tracking issues from generation through resolution via Customer Issue Tracking application.
  • Acting as primary liaison between Sales and other functional groups. Solving problems that arise in any segment of the sales pipeline from suspect identification through invoicing including Credit, Contracts, Legal, and other issues.
  • Identifying and optimizing process inefficiencies in the sales process and assisting in developing and implementing solutions. Acting as a member or leader of project teams to address larger process improvement projects.
  • Developing various process metrics for measurement and process components and reporting on those. Making recommendations on any methods for optimization.
  • Creating sales reports as requested by Sales reps.
  • Coordinating rollout of new or revised product offerings to customers by involving Marketing, Business Strategy, and other functional groups.
  • Providing initial training and on-boarding of new sales reps.


  • Job Requirements

    - Required - Bachelor's Degree in business related field of study or equivalent experience
  • Preferred - MBA or advanced degree in related business field
  • Required - 4 years of retail energy experience
  • Preferred - 4 years of experience in retail natural gas operations and/or sales
  • Highly proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, and the Internet
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills to function in a team environment and to maintain rapport with employees and customers
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, problem-solving, and independent decision-making
  • Flexibility on the job and the ability to work under multiple, daily deadlines
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and e-mails
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors, colleagues, and customers.
  • Ability to manage several different tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all information at all times
  • Travel as required by CNEGH customers' and businesses' needs
