The Account Representative is responsible for acquiring new customers and new business opportunities. Our sales force focuses on selling voice and data products: local, long distance, DSL and Internet services in the Telecom industry. Specific responsibilities include cold calling to identify leads and generate new accounts, contacting and setting appointments with prospects, exploring and identifying needs, conducting pre-meeting research on leads to understand their company, evaluating the market, and matching the needs of prospects with the services from TDS Metrocom. Account Representative in this role will take personal responsibility for the care of the customer from closing through transition to the team responsible for retention and growth of the account..
Day To Day Responsibilities
Contacting cold prospective business customers in person and telephone to obtain appointments.
Utilizing networking and referrals to obtain additional appointments.
Writing and submitting accurate and timely orders following the established sales process.
Making sales calls to determine customer needs.
Auditing prospect's billing inaccuracies, developing a tailored solution, and presenting the solution to the prospect. Closing sale and submitting order process forms.
Transitioning account to the team responsible for retention and growth.
Contribute to sales meetings and sales training as directed.
Participate in trade shows, industry events and customer entertainment activities.
Maintain relations with contacts and lead sources
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
2 or more years outside sales experience 1 or more years of experience in prospecting and generating leads through cold callingMust have and maintain a valid drivers license, reliable transportation and insurance
Other Qualifications: Telecommunications outside sales experience.Track record of success in business to business sales. Excellent verbal and written communications skills including the ability to convincingly persuade others as evidenced in personal interviews and via telephone. Ability to clearly and effectively set goals and then attain them as evidenced by a track record of setting goals, creating a work plan, establishing a reward, working diligently, measuring performance, adjusting as necessary and then accomplishing the goal. Ability to work independently as evidenced by identifying problems, gathering data, weighing the facts, consulting others as necessary, making decisions and effectively implementing the decision.Computer literacy (i.e., Excel, Word, email, Internet)Must maintain quota levels.
