The Patient Care Coordinators' key responsibilities are to communicate with the Specialty Pharmacy patients to ensure compliance with their prescribed drug therapies in relationship to the patients' drug shipment. In addition they communicate with the reimbursement and pharmacy department to prevent any shipping delays in accordance with the policies and procedures of Option Care. Responsibilities: Manages daily activities with regards to order scheduling Knowledgeable of Option Care policies and procedures Effectively utilizes computers, ScriptMed and telephone system Consistently achieves identified productivity targets within the department Ensures that insurance verification is completed prior to pushing order through Documentation is updated accurately and timely with every patient contact Maintains confidentiality of patient and proprietary
Minimum Requirements: - Medical Terminology skills
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written)
- Ability to understand reimbursement issues
- Strong computer skills, knowledgeable in word processing, email and data entry
- Flexibility and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- High school diploma with one year post high school education
- Ability to handle a fast paced environment
- Ability to multi task and prioritize
- Ability to get to the job site
- Customer Service skills
Preferred Qualifications: - One to two years' experience in health related field.
- Experience as a pharmacy technician
- Extensive experience working primarily on the telephone
- Licensed Pharmacy Technician
