Job Category:  Clinical

The Staff Pharmacist reviews, interprets and evaluates physician orders for appropriateness against the available patient information and current therapy in regards to allergies potential drug interactions, etc. Dispenses medications in accordance with federal, state regulations and hospital policies. Provides direct supervision of Pharmacy Technician(s) performing support functions. 


Job Requirements 

Minimum Experience:  5

Preferred Experience:  

  • Have five (5) years hospital pharmacy experience.
  • Have two years experience in a supervisory capacity.
  • Current license to practice pharmacy in Texas.
  • Demonstrate competent administrative, leadership and management, demonstrating knowledge of the development needs of pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
  • Knowledge of JCAHO and Medicare standards affecting pharmacy.
  • Must possess ability to prioritize responsibilities and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Possess the ability to deal tactfully with all types of personnel, medical staff and the public.
  • Possess the ability to make independent decisions.
  • Must have ability to act as liaison between personnel and management.
