Job Description

Career Centers of Texas - El Paso campus is seeking an Electrical Technician Instructor.

Would you enjoy sharing your knowledge and experience of your skills as an electrician with our dedicated students? Kaplan College - Midland Campus has an opportunity for you as a Part-time Electrical Technician Instructor. You will prepare students with the knowledge, skills, and work habits required for entry-level positions.

What you will do:

  • Present enthusiastic, well prepared, organized, and clear lessons consistent with the course syllabus.

  • Assist students in their quest for a career.

  • Provide the student with timely information and feedback on his/her academic progress relative to quizzes, tests, homework and projects.

  • Provide students with a complete syllabus containing course objectives on the first day of class.

  • Participate in in-service seminars and professional development training on an ongoing basis.

  • Support student retention through contacting absent students, providing tutoring, and recognizing student achievements through honors and awards.

  • Job Requirements

    REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum of 5 years of recent, hands-on experience in residential, commercial, and/or industrial wiring within the last ten years
  • Appropriate certification and/or license
  • High school diploma
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer literate, versed in MS Word and PowerPoint
  • Strong interpersonal skills
    Preferred in addition to above:
  • Experience teaching or training
  • Experience supervising
  • Associate’s degree or higher in related field
