Position Summary
The position supports the Day & Zimmermann government businesses, including Munitions, Government Technical Solutions and SOC LLC, through marketing, business development and proposal support.
Primary role comprises market research, maintenance of marketing material data base and proposal coordination and editing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Research, write, edit or revise marketing collateral to develop new business including brochures, capabilities statements, white papers and executive briefings.
- Provide graphic development support.
- Maintain marketing content library.
- Track and research opportunities using FedBizOpps and other sources.
- Update and distribute pipeline reports.
- Support conference and trade shows.
- Serve as the main point of contact for proposal information, including administering SharePoint site, logging and distributing RFPs and amendments, logging and tracking graphics, maintaining call information and manage suspense tracking.
- Update and coordinate proposal schedule in conjunction with Program Directors/Managers
- Arrange travel and organize logistics for proposal meetings and webcasts.
- Research, write, edit or revise portions of proposals, including past performance, resumes, representations and certifications.
- Write, edit and distribute quarterly division employee newsletter.
- Provide news articles to Corporate Communication for company-wide distribution
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Effective written and verbal communication skills; team-oriented, collaborative communication critical
- Must possess analytical skills and strong attention to detail.
- Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft office suite, including Word, Publish, Outlook, Excel, Sharepoint and PowerPoint.
- Ability to communicate technically complex subject matter to all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work under deadlines and prioritize. Must be customer-focused, quality-driven and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to think systematically about the process and to make incremental improvements over time.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business, communications, journalism or related field, or equivalent.
- Minimum one to two years of related experience.
- Government procurement or commercial proposal experience preferred.
- Ability to obtain a secret clearance.
