This challenging position offers the right candidate the responsibility to lead and motivate 30 to 40 employees, knowing that your actions and decisions directly impact Pella’s bottom line.Department Manager Responsibilities:oDirectly manage 30 – 40 hourly employeeso2nd shift, 8-10 hr shifts, paid overtimeoResponsible for your department’s safety, quality, and productivityoMaintain budget for labor efficiencies in departmentoChampion continuous improvement in the department (Kaizen, Lean Mfg)oReward and discipline employeesoInterview, hire, and train employees
o4 year degree from an accredited college or university, or: o1–2 years related experience and/or trainingoEquivalent combination of education and experienceoDemonstrated leadership skillsoStrong team playeroEnthusiasm and the ability to motivate othersoVery organizedoExperience in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement a plusTraining:A new department manager will participate in Pella Corporation's cultural orientation. During this time the department manager will be exposed to cross functional areas of the corporation.
