Working as a member of Reuse Architecture team SOA Architect will provide technical leadership across various Walgreens IT organizations. This individual will act as an expert in architectural design, and production deployment in guiding project teams on key technological decisions, architectural standards and best practices. Will promote, support, and standardize usage of ESB, messaging technologies & platform, integration technologies, and related SOA concepts within corporation as well as assist software developers with evaluation and adoption of new tools and techniques. Will participate in design and development of components, services, standards and methods that constitute Walgreens SOA architecture. Responsibilities - Ability to lead and mentor small to medium size teams of architects and developers in SOA initiatives. - Must have a firm understanding of technologies; SOA, Messaging, Transformation Engines, Web Services, and Data Integration techniques. - Hands on experience with development lifecycle, object-oriented analysis and design with competency in Java/Web application design and development - Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to articulate complex technical information.. - Candidate works with business users, external consultants, Walgreens developers, offshore developers, and peers to understand key requirements, identify project needs, evaluate available architectural options, assess risks,and convey architecture recommendations . - Strong presentation skills are required. The person will present architectural solutions in the form of diagrams, charts, and graphs.( when necessary)
- Must have experience with MQ, MessageBroker,, and WebSphere Application Server. - Computer Science degree or equivalent experience. - Strong presentation skills are desired (candidate should be able to present complex technical solutions and architectures). - Candidate should be able to ensure successful implementation of components or products that s/he designs by overseeing programmers doing the construction. - Experience with WSRR, Healthcare, messaging, EAI or data integration is a plus. Essential Skills: - Must have held the role of a Technical Architect for enterprise-scale, SOA products or solutions. - 10 + years information technology/software development for experience required. - 3 + yrs Product experience with MQ, WMB, - 2+ yrs Service development, ESB (to include security) or SOA experience. - 3 + years in enterprise-scale highly available environment - 3 + years messaging architectures, Web Servers, Application Server For more company information, please visit walgreens.com
