TITLE:
Color Technologist

Position Description:
Responsible for developing appearance products in all Ticona resin systems aligned with BL growth initiatives and market needs. Appearance technologies include but are not limited to general color development, special effects, UV stabilization, gloss control and lasermarking. The individual will be responsible for gathering technical needs from customers (internal and external) to enable them to develop products which will meet or exceed requirements. Responsibilities include working closely with colorant, additive and equipment suppliers to stay current with state-of-the-art technologies. Individual will be the primary contact for UV testing (internal or external), and will oversee operation of UV testing equipment in Florence. The individual will assist in the translation of appearance technologies to other poles. This job will require close collaboration with customers and internal Marketing, Application Development, Manufacturing and R&D functions. The individual should be positioned to assume the role of Global Color Technology Manager in five years.

Requirements Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Min B.S. Degree or higher in Polymer Science, Chemistry, Chemical or Materials Science/Engineering, or related field
5 + Years Experience
Demonstrated industrial track record of commercialized break-through color/appearance technology-based products
Demonstrated expertise in plastics color chemistry and technology
Demonstrated cross-functional leadership skills
Proficiency in statistical techniques such as Design of Experiments (DoE)
Must possess normal color vision
Ability to travel (up to 25%)
Ability to manage multiple projects
Good oral and written communication skills
Self motivated
Ability to work in a team environment

Desirable Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Experience/expertise in plastics UV stabilization technology and UV testing methodologies
Experience/expertise in general plastics stabilization and additive technologies
Experience/expertise in polymer product development processes
Trained/experienced in Design For Six Sigma (DFSS) product development process
