The Advanced Sales Marketing Counsel helps to increase the sales of individual products and the effectiveness of the sales and marketing effort by providing sales assistance and technical support to all individual distribution systems and home office associates in business insurance, estate planning, financial planning, retirement planning, tax and other situations. The incumbent consults directly with Field, Advanced Sales Department and other Home Office personnel in the preparation of advanced sales presentations, training, marketing materials, and related Field support activities.
The incumbent provides sales and technical support to all field and home office associates of all individual distribution systems, in complex legal tax matters relating to the sale of life and annuity products in business insurance, estate planning, financial planning, retirement and other technical cases. This support is both direct such as in consultation by letter or telephone, and indirect such as in the development of sales aids and services.
The incumbent analyzes requests from the field force on any case problem and recommends solutions that can result in increased life, annuity and disability sales and develops advanced sales material, sample agreements and point-of-sales material. The incumbent creates customized case proposals and life illustrations and participates in conference calls with client attorney and accountant advisors.
The incumbent solves problems and questions from the field through telephone and written correspondence, which include but are not limited to the following sales topics:
� Retirement planning questions IRA, 403(b), 457, SEP, SIMPLE, and others. A particular emphasis will be focused on supporting UNIFI�s Retirement Income Distribution Strategy.
� Estate, gift and income tax questions and problems relating to the sale of life, annuity and disability products.
� Business insurance concepts such as: Executive Bonus, Key Person, Deferred Compensation, Split Dollar and Buy-Sell agreements.
� Any other technical or sales problem that either the agent, client, or client advisors need assistance solving.
These solutions involve the preparation of various reports for field presentations which involve analysis of the case situation for the most appropriate conceptual, technical and product recommendations.
The incumbent tests Advanced Sales support software and trains field and home office staff on the use of Advanced Sales support software.
The incumbent develops and presents seminars on advanced sales topics used in field training, travels to field meetings and training seminars to teach Advanced Sales topics and promote individual and develops Advanced Sales printed materials and conceptual selling programs.
The incumbent provides advanced sales and technical guidance to various home office departments when questions arise on existing insurance plans as well as home office procedures. The incumbent also develops and conducts training for home office associates.
Requirements
1. Law degree required plus 5 years of insurance or financial services experience
2. FINRA Series 6 license must be obtained within 9 months of hire
3. CLU and ChFC designations designations preferred.
4. Knowledge of current tax laws and related regulations as well as the ability to effectively communicate this to the field in both written and oral form.
5. Well developed oral (including platform) and written communication skills, strong PC competency and familiarity with advanced sales software.
6. Up-to-date knowledge of industry developments in sales concepts and a comprehensive understanding of investments and investment alternatives required.
7. A commitment to strong analytical and technical skills and continuing professional development required.
