Job Description
In this exciting role, you will be part of a global organization with an emphasis on collaboration and customer focus.
PTC’s Senior Technical Support Engineers are experts in one or more line of products. You will assume a combination of frontline and backline support and will work with our customers on specific software issues. You will act as a technical point of escalation.
Requirements include:
Proven leadership and expertise with enterprise-class multi-server systems
The ability to master complex technical and functional areas and have the ability to suggest and/or create diagnostics and troubleshooting tools for the larger organization.
Exceptional diagnostic ability and skilled in using industry standard tools and techniques.
Extensive experience monitoring, tuning and/or changing complex applications to optimize the product to perform to customer expectations.
Ability and attitude to assist junior members of the team in training on new products and technologies.
Capacity to coach, mentor and train peers in throughout the organization.
Comfort with frequent senior management interactions.
Presentation skills to prepare and present to large and small groups on technical and functional topics.
Excellent communication skills.
Able to produce audience-appropriate communication with executives, support personnel, and the
customer intense, escalated situations.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
3 years experience supporting, developing, or administering enterprise applications
Functional knowledge of Java, SQL, and web technologies
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in implementation, support, consulting or development in enterprise business applications on Java and other web related technologies.
Extensive experience with aspects of enterprise application suites (networks, database configuration, server configuration, Web Server optimization, load balancing hardware, SQL tuning and so on).
Understanding of product support processes.
Deep troubleshooting skills.
The ability to analyze details and synthesize the "big picture" from incomplete or ambiguous data.
Ability to influence and gain cooperative relationships with wide range of audiences ranging from executives to technical specialists.
Good organizational skills.
Able to develop a coherent plan of action that meets everyone’s needs to resolve a given situation as quickly as possible.
Also, able to revise this plan as new data is obtained.
Minimum Education
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or similar fields (masters preferred)
