Job Description:
EG&G has been a leading provider of technical services to the U.S. Government for over 50 years. We are currently seeking System Engineers to support the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) acquisition and sustainment programs, laboratory programs, and other programs at Kirtland Air Force Base. AFNWC is responsible for development, production and life cycle sustainment of nuclear weapons systems, modifications, and integrated weapon components. The engineer will provide advice, studies, analysis, evaluations, hardware and software design, modeling and simulation, documentation, technical support, and systems integration assistance to a government acquisition center. The engineer will also assist the weapons center with early acquisition requirements analysis and implementation and compliance with DoD engineering directives and procedures.
 


Job Requirements 

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 7 years of research and development or related experience are required. At least 3 years of this experience must be associated with Department of Defense weapon system acquisition. Nuclear systems, data linking and avionics experience are desired. Candidates should possess excellent communications and analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs; working knowledge of Department of Defense and Air Force engineering policies, procedures and tools.Knowledge and experience with the following disciplines preferred:- Early phase System Engineering- Capabilities-based planning- Early phase Nuclear weapon development and acquisition- Product/requirements developmentPosition requires a minimum of a DoD SECRET Security Clearance with a background investigation within the last 5 years.
