HNTB Water Services Group Great Lakes Division has an opening for a highly energetic Senior Project Manager focused on growth opportunities with a specialization in water and wastewater design. Our Cincinnati office is experiencing unprecedented growth in project work for federal, state and local clients, and in all HNTB disciplines. The ideal candidate will be the major component in growing a satellite operation into a major market presence. The ideal candidate will have relationships with and experience working on projects for The Metropolitan Sewer District of Greater Cincinnati and/or the Greater Cincinnati Water Works, and will be motivated by project pursuits and developing staff.


The responsibilities of this position are:



  • Lead the marketing pursuits of Water Services in the Cincinnati Area, including client relationship development, project identification, client meetings, proposal input.

  • Manage and mentor local water/wastewater engineering staff.

  • Lead and participate in HNTB client service teams

  • Project Management - Manage budgets, schedules and deliverables, and undertake technical work associated with all or a portion of the Water Services, ensuring all client expectations are exceeded on mega projects.

  • Active participation in related professional associations, increasing HNTB’s Cincinnati presence.




Qualifications

The qualified candidate will have:


15+ years of water/wastewater experience



  • Strong leadership in design of water and wastewater services

  • Successfully managed design projects up to $2 million dollars in fee

  • Professional Engineering registration or ability to obtain registration, in Ohio.

  • Strong communication skills required.

HNTB can trace its roots as far back as 1886 when maverick bridge engineer Dr. John Alexander Low Waddell opened a consulting practice in Kansas City, Mo. Waddell quickly made a name for himself in the design of railroad bridges. This specialty supplied a steady stream for the next half century for the successive partnerships that developed from Waddell's original firm. When the third of those partnerships, Harrington, Howard & Ash, opened its doors in 1914, the firm had worked on bridges throughout the United States and abroad.

Between 1914 and 1998, Harrington, Howard & Ash has transformed itself into one of the nation's leading architectural, engineering and planning firms. The evolution of HNTB over the years has come with an increase in the services it provides to clients. After building a solid foundation in bridge design, HNTB branched out into other pursuits. The firm's expertise in roadway design has been well established since the beginning of the modern turnpike and interstate highway eras following World War II. Airport planning and design also has been a major activity at HNTB for more than 25 years. More recently, the firm has developed expertise in environmental engineering and has developed capabilities to capture the rapidly growing transit market.

The most dramatic change in HNTB's services has been the addition of architecture services. Since the merger of the Kansas City architectural firm of Kivett & Myers with HNTB in 1975, architecture has become an increasingly important component of HNTB's portfolio.
