Description

  

The Director, EPMO has overall responsibility for the project management governance function (note that project managers and program managers report into the delivery/software development organization):

 

  • Establishing visibility over all MoneyGram-wide project activity through orchestration and oversight of the Enterprise Project Management Office, its methodology, processes, and procedures.
  • Developing and owning MoneyGram project management methodology.
  • Collaborating with business IT teams in establishing robust program approval, prioritization and benefit fulfillment processes. Providing coaching and consultation to project and program managers and development teams. Providing guidance in managing project portfolios.
  • Defining and managing the overall execution framework and associated methodologies used for all projects and programs in the enterprise.
  • Driving enterprise-wide adoption of the framework, ensuring consist usage and alignment with corporate goals and objectives.
  • Tracking the entire portfolio of projects by developing metrics and measuring all projects against those metrics.
  • Supporting senior management by providing them with factual data and an objective oversight into the current status of all projects, to base their decisions for selecting and prioritizing projects and understanding the current status of projects.
  • Supporting the project, program and process managers and teams by providing them with best-practices methodologies and processes.
  • Ensuring the collection and archiving of documents from completed projects, and analyzing these for trends.
  • Performing quality audits of the projects.
  • Depending upon skills and experience of the incumbent, may also have responsibility for IT vendor management function (including Manager, IT Vendor Management as a direct report). Related responsibilities will include overseeing the management all IT related vendors and being responsible for driving delivery and cost metrics across the organization.
  • Managing all contract administration and due diligence functions in support of proposal development, contract negotiations and implementation efforts through project teams, vendors and sourcing/procurement teams.



Skills and Experience Required:

  

  • Track record of modeling the Corporate Values of Respect, Courage, Passion, Teamwork and Integrity at a high level.
  • Education: Bachelors Degree in engineering, computer science, finance, accounting or a related field, required. Masters degree in Business Administration, Information/Computer Science or a related discipline is preferred.
  • PMI PMP Cetification (required)..
  • Process reengineering certification, e.g.. Six Sigma Black Belt. (highly preferred).
  • 8+ years of increasingly responsible full software development life cycle and systems operations experience, involving multiple major development projects. Proven track record of simultaneously and effectively managing multiple complex projects.
  • 5+ years direct experience management experience, including coaching, managing performance, hiring, motivating and developing IT professional and/or project management staff.
  • 3+ years experience building, leading, enhancing a formal Enterprise Management Office which includes a project governance and approval process.
  • Advanced knowledge of best practice project methodologies in leveraging partnerships with business and technology project management offices.
  • Extensive interpersonal, written/verbal communication, organizational and leadership skills.
  • Strong communication skills. Communicates information in an open and sincere manner that promotes credibility. Track record of facilitating the resolution of different views.
  • Relates well to key colleagues (senior management, peers, and direct reports). Interacts diplomatically and persuasively with all levels of the organization.
  • Negotiation and influencing skills: Effectively and appropriately creates, negotiates and ensures adherence to PMO governance expectations and deliverables with key stakeholders.
  • Advanced skills in developing creative solutions to business problems, documenting them and presenting/selling them to management.
  • Quality and cost driven.
