Job Description 

The Lead Technician provides leadership of the operational and maintenance work on wind turbine generators that includes scheduling, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs and modifications. 
 
Essential Functions:
 
  • Schedule and plan daily activities of all Technicians
  • Teach troubleshooting and repair of integrated systems to Techs.
  • Responsible for the quality of maintenance on turbine equipment.
  • Collect turbine data for research or analysis.
  • Report turbine conditions.
  • Complete reports and paperwork as required.
  • Travel as required to meet business needs.
  • Perform overtime as needed to meet business needs.
  • Act as the secondary point of contact for the Site Manager.
  • All other responsibilities as needed by the Site Manager.

Job Requirements 

Education, Training & Skills Required:
 
  • Technical Associates degree or equivalent experience required, Bachelors degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hydraulic, electrical, or mechanical experience.
  • Computer and software skills for data collection and reporting required, SAP experience preferred.
  • Ability to lead site efforts to establish a safe work culture, following applicable safety standards and procedures.
  • Valid driver’s license & clean driving record.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills. 
  • Strong attention to detail and solid problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and unsupervised as well as in a team environment.
  • Ability to climb ladders to heights of 60 to 100 meters as needed and work in confined spaces with diverse environmental conditions.
  • Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time, climb stairs, lift/push/carry up to 75 pounds, pull up to 200 pounds, hearing ability to use close range radios, visual acuity including depth perception, field of vision and the ability to distinguish between colors, ability to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl as needed, as well as hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
