Primary Responsibilities:
This position is designed as a developmental position with the goal to train and prepare the successful candidate for a sales opportunity within Inside Sales at UnitedHealthcare. The responsibilities listed below are directly applicable to the skill set needed for our Broker Account Executive(BAE) and Renewal Account Executive(RAE) positions. Our training curriculum and support processes are designed to prepare you to fit into either a BAE or RAE role within 6 to 18 months of your hire date. BAE and RAE positions are rewarding positions working with our Small Business brokers to find solutions for their customers. If you have a proven ability to build strong relationships and have a driven desire to hold a sales position, this is a great opportunity. Our training program will include the opportunity to:
- Make outbound phone calls to the Small Business broker community to recruit, provide information, follow-up and generate new leads.
- Make outbound phone calls to brokers and small businesses
- Follow up on leads generated through our marketing campaigns.
- Recruit new brokers.
- Participate in various outbound and inbound telephone outreach projects as assigned.
- Adhere to UnitedHealthcare Small Business Code of Ethics.
- Report daily/weekly/monthly production on all projects.
- Create and present information to your working team
- Work to assist and support fellow Inside Sales staff positions
- Assist in the broker training and appointment process.
- Identify, capture, and report competitive information.
- Perform other related duties as deemed appropriate by management

Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree required
- 1 year of customer service experience ( internships, collegiate activities and part time jobs included)
- 2 years of proficient experience in Microsoft Office products (college experience included)
- State life and health License upon hire or within 90 days (UnitedHealthcare will put candidates through class to qualify for license)
- Experience in health insurance is preferred
- Some overnight travel is required
- Experience in sales is preferred
- Excellent verbal/telephone communication skills
- Must be able to read a script verbatim without it sounding like it is written
- Must have a friendly telephone manner
- Evidence of ability to build and maintain rapport with supervisors, peers, and customers
- Skilled at problem solving, follow-through and resolution
