Our client has an immediate need for 1 to 2 consultants to join their Professional Services team. Consultant can sit in either Boston or NYC, with some travel between required.
The Professional Services team provides product expertise to their customers and prospects, enabling them to become proficient programmers and designers, and enabling them to achieve rapid time to market for their applications. They also provide product mentoring, application architecture and design, implement applications and adapters, perform product installation and configuration, make infrastructure architecture and provisioning recommendations, assist with application benchmarking and performance tuning, and work closely with customer teams to create highly available and resilient application systems.
Consultant
� 5+ years experience designing and developing software applications through the full software development life-cycle -- from detailed requirements gathering, technical design, implementation, and testing through to production deployment and maintenance
� Very strong Java skills; (C++ and/or C# a plus)
� Some knowledge of server side capital markets front office trading applications
� Experience with distributed systems and distributed messaging such as Tibco Rendezvous or JMS/EMS
� Delights in working directly with end users, helping them solve problems that affect their business�s success
� Application level familiarity with SQL-based RDBMS � logical schema design and table access from applications.
� Some experience designing and building fault tolerant, highly-available applications
� Familiarity with Linux/Solaris and Windows Server as an application deployment environment
� Excellent English language skills, both written and oral
� Excellent client facing skills
Location: New York, NY, or Lexington, MA. There will be approx 30-50% travel to client sites for implementation and development.
