Sales Administration Sr Specialist
Responsible for Presales support services for the largest, most complex (including Government) RFPs within the Central Region Middle Market Presale including overall RFP management to internal sales dates and quality assurance of total RFP responses. Interacts with various matrix partners including but not limited to: New Business Managers for required RFP information and coordination of Sales Q&A responses; underwriting in coordinating rate quotes and completion of broker/government-specific cost tables; brokers to help manage flow of proposal packages and quotes; and ancillary products¿ contacts for applicable quote provisions. May serve as a functional leader providing guidance and expertise to more junior members.
Demonstrate competency in quote request process, alternate funding options, ancillary products, benefit compliance, Choice Fund products, meeting all deadlines, and preparing high quality RFPs.
Apply decline to quote indicators and adhere to the DTQ process focusing on viable RFPs. Includes the review of Prior Carrier Translation Factors.
Effective use of the medical and dental New Business Sales Strategy documents ensuring complete and quality RFP submissions to all downstream matrix partners.
Support and embrace new and enhanced products, processes, system changes, and corporate initiatives.
Drive productive strategy meetings with internal and external partners. Must be able to influence matrix partners to accomplish overall goal of preparing high quality RFPs.
Ensure sound underwriting and thorough financial negotiations. Negotiate skillfully in touch situations with both internal and external groups. Win concessions without damaging relationships.
Demonstrate ability to act as a consultant to regional sales team.
Exceed expectations of internal matrix partners, clients, and producers by providing superior service and Presale support. Ensure accurate and timely entry of all data in all applicable CIGNA systems and local tracking tools. Coach presale staff in all aspects of data management.
Research and quickly address data integrity issues identified by matrix partners, the team, or management.
Demonstrate a proactive leadership role in identifying areas of opportunity for process improvement and organizational effectiveness.
Work collaboratively with management, peers, and work groups on projects and pilots to support process improvements, RFP enhancements, and efficiency gains.
May run reports for management and provide meaningful summaries based on data analysis.
May participate in producer events and meetings to drive CIGNA's visibility and to develop extended sales relationships with local producers..

Requirements
*Bachelors Degree required
A minimum of 5 years experience working in a sales environment (preferred)
3 plus years of sales support coordination experience is required
2 plus years of insurance experience a plus
Detailed-oriented and highly organized
Ability to multi-task and work in ever-changing environment
Ability to make independent decisions to keep workflow moving
Professionalism with immediate team, sales teams and internal and external contacts
Confidence to interact with a variety of people across all areas of the organization, from technical to executive level staff.
The ability to quickly assimilate and use new information regarding products, processes and technical tools.
The ability to work under strict deadlines and to manage stress.
