Storage Engineer General Summary
The Storage Engineer is responsible for the Operational Support of Storage Arrays and Associated Fibre Channel Fabric Networks including Storage Provisioning, Fibre Channel Fabric Zoning, Performance analysis and Storage Migrations.This position is also responsible for providing Storage Allocation Reports on a monthly basis or On-Demand as necessary.

The Storage Team works in a fast paced environment.The ideal candidate will be someone who is highly motivated with good interpersonal skills, excellent technical skills and has previous experience working with EMC DMX/CX and Centera Storage, NetApp Storage and Brocade Fibre Channel Switches as well as Storage Software skills with EMC ECC, SRDF, TimeFinder and NetApp Operations Manager.

Major Responsibilities

Provide Operational Support of Storage Arrays and Associated Fabric Networks.
Provide Monthly Storage Allocation Reports and On-Demand Storage Reports as required.
Review Storage Array Performance on a Quarterly Basis.
Create Operational Documentation as required for all aspects of Storage Administration and Review on a Regular Basis.
Identify Areas to Improve Operational Effectiveness and work with Engineering Team to develop and deploy new storage solutions.
Work with clients, engineering and Architecture Teams on New storage deployments.
Provide assistance with storage migration projects.

Education/Skills/Experience Required

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
Requires at least 5 years experience in Storage Management with technical knowledge in any of the following:

EMC DMX3, DMX4, CX4
Network Appliance:NAS, FC, Operations Manager
Fibre Channel Director Class:Brocade

Knowledge of various operating systems.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.VISIO experience a plus.
Should have knowledge of service ticket requests. i.e. Peregrine, Remedy, etc...
Also needed are strong communication skills and the ability to work well with business users in a professional manner.
