The selected candidate will manage the overall port operations, working with and directing the port processor, ocean transport vendors, ILWU stevedores and rail/haul away carriers to ensure that Subaru vehicles meet or exceed customer quality and delivery expectations. Must be familiar with the port labor environment to successfully communicate daily business requirements to various on-site logistics vendors. Position will manage and oversee the receipt of vehicles, maintain vehicle inventory, accessory installations and supply, coordinate facility lease requirements and ensure quality shipping of our product.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and at least 4-6 years of related work experience in logistics; additional relevant experience may be substituted for educational requirements
- Position is physically demanding requiring the ability to work on rail equipment and ocean vessels for discharge
- Must have strong project management and negotiation skills, good follow-up skill
- Good computer skills in MS Word, Excel, Power-Point, Office Outlook, and have the ability to learn new software (Oracle Transportation Management) and report programs quickly
