Reporting to the North American Account Director, the Key Account Manager is a highly visible Kelly representative who serves as the single-point of contact for a very key account covering the west and east coast locations. This position is responsible for managing this relationship on a national basis and has responsibility for maximizing Kelly profitability and customer satisfaction and retention. Key responsibilities include coordinating and integrating business across multiple Kelly service lines and business units to maximize profitability and improve customer satisfaction. This position will be primarily focused on business development and customer service within this key client account.
This position is field-based at or near one of the largest account locations and, as such, is responsible for building relationships with key decision makers and stakeholders. This is an individual contributor role focusing on strategic objectives and creative solutions.
The Key Account Manager responsibilities will include: - Managing a multi million dollar client account and ensuring consistency of service and compliance to customer requirements and their contract.
- Account management (50%) along with business development (50%) in order to grow the existing account.
- Gaining an understanding of customer's business and staffing objectives & outsourcing objectives.
- Maintain effective business relationships at executive level with key decision makers.
- Expand usage of practice area throughout the customer's various locations and subsidiaries by identifying opportunities and developing support strategies.
- Working closely with the partnered staffing representative and Solution Center team to ensure this consistency.
- Proactively identifies issues and opportunities and implements plans to address them.
- Business development and expanding the range of service offerings Kelly provides.
- Operating within customer policy, by exercising discretion and independent judgment in making decisions.
- Travel up to 40% or more depending on location in which candidate will be based.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree (preferably in Human Resources, Business, or Marketing) or equivalent work experience.
- Five years staffing industry experience with an emphasis on account management and business development
- Demonstrated success in up selling solutions within existing accounts in order to further grow the business line required.
- Previous background in contingent workforce management solutions, procurement, strategic sourcing, and managing suppliers of temporary labor a plus.
- Previous experience managing people is required.
- Due to the cross-divisional nature of this position, candidates must be able to comprehend and function within multiple disciplines with equal effectiveness and to be account
able to multiple managers simultaneously. - Ability to function within a matrix organization is key.
- The key competencies for the Key Account Manager include the proven ability to build relationships, increase profitability, communicate effectively including the ability to organize and present data, develop business, manage others and accomplish many tasks simultaneously with an attention to detail.
- In addition, the candidate must demonstrate a strong customer focus, flexibility, team orientation and technical proficiency (i.e., computer skills).
