Sales Manager / Center Director - Long Beach

Job Description

Manages the day-to-day operation of a Sylvan Learning Center. Responsible for P&L controls, staffing, sales, curriculum delivery and marketing to schools and community. Responsibilities: Responsible for selection, training and overall management of employees working in the center.

• Directly manages the sales process of all new and potential enrollments, including initial inquiries, consultations, and conferences
  
• Schedules and conducts student progress meetings (depends on region).
  
• Monitors and tracks center performance, revenues, expenses and collection of fees.
  
• Conducts center staff meetings with all FT employees.
  
• Establishes and maintains relationships with teachers, educational specialists and other school administrators and parent/teacher organizations.
  
• Assures the professional appearance of the center.
  
• Engages in marketing activities to increase awareness of Sylvan.
  
• Uses the Sylvan systems as outlined in the Quality Service Manual.
  
• Establishes a high level of staff morale and spirit.

Job Requirements

Requirements:

• High school diploma required. B.A. degree and at least three years of related experience (sales and marketing) preferred
  
• Teaching certificate/ educational experience a plus.
  
• Excellent verbal communication and persuasive skills and the ability to build relationships are required.
  
• Must be customer service oriented.
  
• Must have ability to calculate figures and amounts, read, analyze and interpret business reports/statistics; write reports and business correspondence.
  
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  
• Must be available to work evening hours, and some Saturdays and Sundays as needed.
