BASIC FUNCTION
The Merchandising Analyst I is responsible for managing and maintaining the merchandise data integrity within Oracle. Additional responsibilities for this position include analyzing merchandising data, communicating changes within the data to the field, and providing the Merchandising and Design departments with product information found within the system. In addition, the Merchandising Analyst will partner with the Director of Merchandising for casegoods, accessories and upholstery to assist with additional merchandising and new product development needs.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Manage the ORACLE Database
Update and maintain the Item Master within the Oracle system.
Manage price increases for all furniture vendors. Create price lists for suppliers that do not supply one for BKT. Supply showrooms and stores with current price lists, vendor mark up information and the effective dates of upcoming price increases. Notify the field of upcoming price increases and insure Master Activities Calendar reflects price increases at least 30 days in advance. Deal directly with vendor to obtain this information within 30 day parameters.
Write and maintain product-ordering procedures within Oracle for the showrooms and stores.
Write and maintain operational procedures for the merchandising department regarding how to enter information into the Item Master and pricing fields within Oracle.
Maintain a "Help Desk" supplying Oracle and furniture product information for the showrooms, stores, and design department. Act as front line contact with the field for all furniture product and GERS related questions.
Manage the Baker Knapp & Tubbs database for furniture, and make the appropriate related changes within Oracle. Update the Oracle system to reflect current and discontinued furniture inventory. Communicate this information to the field regularly.
Assist in determining the priority in which new product information is entered into the Oracle system. Communicate with the Merchandising and Design departments as to when new product can be ordered.
Assist in special projects related to the Oracle system.
2. Manage the Merchandise Model
Maintain and update the Merchandise Model.
Perform the missing model merchandise analysis and make recommendations based on this analysis.
Manage and publish the semi-annual Furniture Market Matrix. Reflect new sample selections on the Matrix. Communicate the Furniture Market Matrix to showrooms, stores and design department.
3. Manage Furniture Inventories
Assist in determining the current inventory that will be dropped from the assortment pursuant to the rate of sale.
Review and manage outlet product. Make recommendations to the Director of Merchandising regarding product that should be transferred to an outlet location or discounted. Communicate this information to the field.
Review DNAR, DNR, and Odds/Ends lists monthly. Create replenishment purchase orders for the Odds & Ends Stores. Monitor POSR to ensure this product arrives at the Odds & Ends locations. Research if it doesn't arrive in a timely manner.
Perform monthly Odds & Ends inventory analysis and update spreadsheet
Assist in determining product for Clearance Events.
Manage the floor sample inventory to ensure that the correct pricing and the proper options are reflected in Oracle. Coordinate the correction of inaccuracies with the Visual Display Coordinators at each location. Regularly publish Discounted Inventory report to the field, as well as Special Values and Obsolete Inventory information.
4. Administrative
Draft correspondence to suppliers.
Communicate all necessary promotion information to IT dept in Grand Rapids at least 3 weeks prior to start of any promotion
Responsible for the overseeing the 20% Merchandising Dept. allocation of receptionist's time
Responsible for making recommendations for hiring temporary help for Oracle related projects. Oversee and manage temporary help for Oracle related projects for the Chicago Executive Office.
Review all market purchase orders created by the design department.
Review merchandising matrixes for the new market samples.
Review incorrect purchase orders placed by the showrooms and stores. Find discrepancies and assist in the correction of these.
