The individual in this position will work on Fannie Mae's implementation of certain programs under the U.S. Department of the Treasury's ("Treasury") Making Home Affordable initiative.  U.S. citizenship or permanent residency status is required by Treasury for such individual, as is execution of a nondisclosure agreement and compliance with other Fannie Mae requirements per Treasury's guidelines.

 
The Senior Development Specialist creates learning opportunities for Fannie Mae's customers that help them achieve their business goals and expand the availability and affordability of housing in their communities, and cause them to prefer doing business with Fannie Mae.
 
Primary responsibilities include: 
  • Working in a consulting relationship with employees and customers to develop learning solutions to complex business problems;
  • Executing all stages of the instructional design process - needs assessment, design, development, implementation and evaluation - with an emphasis on development and maintenance; and
  • Developing a range of needs-based educational products, including classroom materials (for delivery by others), online performance support, e-learning, and print-based learning solutions, as appropriate.
 
Requirements
  • Five to seven years' experience developing content with an educational purpose for publication, web-based delivery, and classroom use. 
  • Excellent written, verbal, listening and people skills, with a strong desire to develop educational materials that reflect - and advance - overall corporate strategies.
  • Bachelor's degree in a business, communications, English or preferably, an education-related field; advanced degree in instructional systems design is a plus.  
  • Understanding of and ability to apply instructional design concepts and learning theory to the development of adult learning solutions.
  • Excellent project management and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel;  Facility in learning new applications including authoring tools, such as Articulate Presenter, Captivate, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, collaborate with others, manage multiple assignments and work successfully in a fast-paced environment.
  • Financial services or mortgage industry experience OR a proven ability to master technical and business content quickly and effectively.
