SCA5-Engineering Technician V (02059)
Job: Engineering
GENERAL OVERVIEW
Serves on a Casual basis, work as needed, as an Engineering Technician V supporting the TSSC-III Program through the Northwest Mountain Region, based out of Renton, WA. Moderate Overtime and 95% Travel will be required.
The ideal candidate will have 5-8 years of professional experience or a combination of experience and related training and perform the following duties:
TYPICAL ASSIGNMENTS
Performs non-routine and complex assignments involving responsibility for planning and conducting a complete project of relatively limited scope or a portion of a larger and more diverse project. Selects and adapts plans, techniques, designs, or layouts. Contacts personnel in related activities to resolve problems and coordinate the work; reviews, analyzes, and integrates the technical work of others. Supervisor or professional engineer outlines objectives, requirements, and design approaches; completed work is reviewed for technical adequacy and satisfaction of requirements. May train and be assisted by lower level technicians. Performs such duties as:
Responsible for review and accuracy of all engineering work.
Establishing milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules.
Identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications.
Ability to lead and direct the work of the team assigned to the project from technical, engineering, construction and administrative areas.
Serve as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with the customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
5 - 8 years of experience as project lead/or manager, as well as 5 - 8 years of construction experience.
Familiar with Civil and Electrical Engineering Drawings.
Moderate overtime required.
Must be able to lift 50lbs.
Must be familiar with general construction with a preference for the ability to operate heavy equipment.
Should have experience with Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel & Project. Experience with Microstation is preferred. Experience in email and internet usage and the ability to quickly learn new computer programs.
This position requires a security background check by Federal Authorities and must be able to meet customer security requirements (moderate to high risk).
