Amerisure is an “A" rated regional property and casualty mutual insurance company that provides insurance for workers’ compensation, commercial property and casualty, and contractor and manufacturer programs utilizing proprietary coverage enhancements.  

 

We are recruiting for a Senior Marketing Underwriter to market company products and services to select independent agents and to profitably manage a substantial book of business through risk selection, underwriting and price decisions within designated authority; perform effective agency and policyholder contacts and personal visits. 

 

Job Functions:

 

  • Manage the profitability and growth of a book of business.

 

  • Solicit, select and price individual risks; apply company underwriting strategies; document underwriting decisions; collaborate with others when authority/approval is needed and/or required.

 

  • Lead the agency evaluation process including assigning appropriate tactical elements and monitoring progress toward objectives.  Remain aware of legal, legislative and competitive trends within the assigned territory and recommend action as appropriate.

 

  • Mentor and train others as necessary.  May be assigned “line of business leader" responsibilities or other similar duties.

 

  • Interact with current and prospective agents and policyholders establishing, building and maintaining relationships.

 

  • Act as a liaison between agency and company to capitalize on opportunities, resolve problems and report on activities.

 

  • Meet or exceed internal and external customer expectations related to service and quality according to established standards, goals and objectives.  Ultimately contributing to office/corporate goals and objectives.

 

  • Other activities as assigned by management.
Requirements Successful candidates will have 5 plus years of multi line commercial underwriting experience, strong agency relationship management experience, excellent communication skills, be a team player that is committed to customer service.  Construction or manufacturing markets experience strongly preferred.  Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
